Zeolite, like cationic type ion exchangers, are characterized by high ionexchange selectivity for radioactive elements, sorption ability to heavy nonferrous metals (lead, cadmium, etc.), barium, phenol, ammonium nitrogen,
nitrates and nitrites, 3.4 benz (a) pyrene.
